Rio Celeste Hike

Mysterious and enchanting, in the very depths of the Tenorio Volcano National Park, a chemical phenomenon transforms the water of the Buena Vista and Roble rivers into a sky blue stream as they blend, giving birth to one of the most extraordinary and shocking optical illusion of nature: “Rio Celeste”. This tour explores the Tenorio Volcano National Park, by hiking along a 7 km trail (approximately 4 hours) through the tropical rainforest.

Our first visit in this special park full of rich ecological wonders will be the spectacular Rio Celeste waterfall which color makes it one of a kind. We’ll continue our hike through the jungle until will arrive to “Los Teñideros” the site where two streams of crystalline water come together and create the magic to this heavenly color blue that gives the river its name. Also, as you walk along these paths, you might get to know some of the resident animals. Our final reward is an exquisite Costa Rican typical lunch at the end of our journey, and after that, the ride back to the hotels in La Fortuna.
