Lake Arenal Fishing Tour
Lake Arenal fishing is increasing its popularity. For those who enjoy the sportfishing, the idea of doing what you like best with the amazing tropical rainforest landscapes and a volcano on the back makes it worthwhile, to say the least.
Lake Arenal fishing tour by Aventuras Arenal offers catch and release of Guapote (Rainbow bass, its scientific name is Parachromis dovii) an incredible fighter that will give you a great time and create a new great fishing story. You can also find: Machaca fish (scientific name: Brycon Behreaeon) a shorter version of the Tarpon but correlated to the infamous Piranha) and Bobo Mullet (scientific name: Joturus Pichardi)
The lake allows excellent freshwater fishing conditions in Costa Rica, as you have forested ridges right next to the water and mountains that provide a shield from wind. As it is an artificial lake, the bottom areas are grassy and flat and perfect for the Rainbow Bass and Machacas, that reach all the way to deep water (for exotic freshwater catfish).
In the Lake Arenal fishing, the conditions are very comfortable and the day can be enjoyed even by the friends or family that don’t appreciate the fishing part particularly, but that may enjoy seeing from a different perspective the majestic beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
All our motorboats count with gyratory boat seats, electric motors, radar, equipment for trolling and casting, expert guides and life jackets.
Our expert guides know the lake and know how these elusive fish behave. They as well will tell you a bit about the history of our volcano and Costa Rica largest lake and the seven rivers that serve it. Enjoy the learning and the fun of a day dedicated to unplug and come back to yourself.
