Venado Caves Exploration

Venado Caves is a completely different environment which holds several attractions such as stalactites and stalagmites forming millenary thick columns, coral remains, fossils, a subterranean waterfall, bats, spiders and crickets. Even though most chambers of the caves remain unexplored, today, a total of 10 caverns have been mapped -covering a total length of 2700 meters-. This place can be really fascinating from its history to its architecture.

At the facilities, we’ll give you a special equipment -a lantern, a helmet and a pair of boots- to enter the caverns. Once inside, we’ll spend 1 ½ hour there, walking across a not profound subterranean river, climbing and crawling in order to reach different chambers. All the journey you’ll be accompanied by a prepared guide who is going to share several facts about the caves such as how it formed, its mineral constitution, its resident animals, the firsts explorations and more!
