This experience was designed to discover Palo Verde National Park’s wildlife as you slide along Bebedero river in a boat. Guanacaste is a large area, that’s why in order to make your vacation planning easier, Aventuras Arenal had developed two variants to explore Palo Verde. Please check which Palo Verde Boat variant adjusts better to the location of the hotel you are staying in.
City & Nature
Once we head to our facilities in Bebedero town, the river of same name will serve as our way to navigate and observe Palo Verde’s wildlife in a pontoon boat -within a journey which is going to last about 2½ hours-. Palo Verde National Park is a magnificent stage to discover mother nature’s beauty. In fact, it’s the largest protected area in Guanacaste and is home to about 300 different bird species, 600 species of plants particular from the dry forest, reptiles and some mammals such as howler and spider monkeys.
As you can see, Palo Verde is a must when it comes to nature lovers! If you want to learn more about this National Park, you can read this article.
After having a delicious traditional lunch in Bebedero, the next stop is at beautiful “Llanos Cortés” Waterfall. A short hike leads to an oasis surrounded by a dense jungle where the water falls forming a wide curtain as if in a natural roof less theater. Here, you can swim in the refreshing waters or just chill and enjoy the impressive view.
The last part of the tour includes a visit to Liberia’s -Guanacaste’s most important human settlement- most emblematic buildings. These edifications are mainly relics from the colony which maintain their look among the newest buildings with completely different architectural styles. Some examples are the centenary Agony Church and the elegant and beautiful “Calle Real”. We’ll also visit Liberia’s church and park where you can enjoy a tasty “Copo” -a traditional treat made of scraped ice, cola syrup, powder milk and condensed milk-.
